One of the many, many, many problems with Star Trek as a license: too many damn toys. To paraphrase Red Dwarf, we could beam down in the Embassy grounds, fighting through twenty highly-trained assassins to breach the front door… or we could use the transporter beam. Like always. You know, giving the player a “Good thinking!” text scroll after finishing that way would be fun. Or, better, being able to finish the mission by beaming out and having the Captain’s Log say:
“Captain’s Log, Stardate I-Forget-the-numbering-system so, uh… Tuesday. I guess.
Klingons are kinda dumbasses. That is all.”
